This is a relatively new writing discipline for me. Of course I've travelled in the past, and written in the past, but on my recent trip to Japan I brought along a computer and simply kept a running diary of my experience.

This is not an attempt at commercial journalism (it's not magazine worthy).

This is just a travelogue of a fun week spent with my wonderful wife, Krissy in Japan during the early part of July 2006.

  Music Journalism
For years I dreamed of being a music journalist, but I never got the academic foundation necessary to make this dream come true. Nonetheless I couldn't stop myself from sharing the joy (and occasionally the pain) I felt at the multitude of musical events I was privilged to attend in the Bay Area.

Undaunted by a lack of actual pay for my efforts I have endeavored to cover bands and musical events that appeal to my particular musical interests.

Much to my regret, the primary repository of my freelance musical journalism, www.pauserecord.com vanished from the World Wide Web due to a lack of funding. At PauseRecord I published more than 90 articles complete with digital photographs. Some of these articles are still cached at Google and you can find them by using the Search Terms "Silverman," and "PauseRecord.com."

Prior to the contributions I made to PauseRecord I often posted content on a UK based website called the
Northwest Bluegrass News, maintained by Derek and Jean Brandon of Chester, England.

I have also had pieces published online at Jambase and in print for the Monterey Coast Weekly.
